  • The Beans books are aimed at children aged 6 to 8, though many younger and older children — and the adults reading aloud — find plenty to enjoy too.

  • Bean Tales follows the Beans through their everyday lives in the village of Hollybridge, in 32-page standalone stories. Bean & Gone introduces the series' magical element, following the Beans on longer, time-hopping adventures beyond the village in 98-page books of 7-8 chapters. Bean Before is a series of standalone 64-page books that retell real moments from history with a Beans twist.

  • No. Every Beans book is a complete story on its own. Each book is also sequentially numbered, so if you'd like to follow the full story of Hollybridge from the beginning, the numbering gives you the optimum reading order to do so.description

  • As of 2026, there are 9 Bean Tales books, 1 Bean & Gone book, and 1 Bean Before book published or in production, with 96 titles planned across the full series.

  • The Beans books are paperback: 32 pages for Bean Tales, 98 pages for Bean & Gone, and 64 pages for Bean Before.

  • Currently The Beans books are available in paperback only. We may introduce other formats in future — join our waiting list to hear about any updates.

  • Well… it’s a secret. But some say Hollybridge isn't a real place — it's the fictional village where all of The Beans stories are set: a small, perfect village of rolling hills, forests, lakes, and streams, tucked beneath the Opal Mountains, far beyond the reach of any other civilisation.

  • Prices range from £6.99 to £14.99 depending on the book's length and series.

  • Yes. All Beans books are printed and fulfilled through Lulu, a global print-on-demand printing service. Lulu prints books at facilities in multiple countries — including the UK, USA, Australia, Canada, France, and India — and ships to over 200 countries and territories, usually printing and dispatching from the facility closest to you to keep delivery times down. Once you place an order on thebeans.info, it's sent straight to Lulu for printing and fulfilment, and Lulu will be in touch directly with your delivery details. Printing typically takes 3-5 business days, with shipping time on top varying by destination.

  • Yes, schools and teachers ordering 5 or more copies can receive a discount. Simply email education@thebeans.info to receive a discount code to use at checkout (a minimum order of 5 books is required).

  • We're able to offer a refund or exchange on any book that has been delivered but not opened. Every Beans book is wrapped in protective film, and this film must remain intact and be returned unbroken for a refund or exchange to be issued.

  • The Beans is written, illustrated, and originated entirely by Daniel Clemo, who created every character and story in the series himself.
