Sneak Peek: Morton's Marvelous Moonday

We're just a few weeks away from launch now, so it felt like the right time to give you a first proper look at the very first Beans book: Morton's Marvelous Moonday.

What it's about

All Morton wants to do today is walk across the village and collect his bag from Winnie and Fern's library. Simple enough. But every time he sets off, another friend appears needing just a little bit of help with just one more task.

One favour becomes another. The morning turns into afternoon. And Morton still hasn't made it to the library.

What Morton doesn't know is why he keeps getting pulled aside — or that his friends are keeping him busy on purpose, buying just enough time to set up a surprise Moonday party in his honour, on the other side of the village.

Why we love it

It's the perfect introduction to Hollybridge: a gentle, funny, everyday story that captures exactly what we love about the Bean Tales series — small mishaps, good friends, and a character (Morton) whose kindness ends up being rewarded in a way he never saw coming.

At 32 pages, it's a complete, cosy read for one bedtime — the first of many trips to Hollybridge.

When you can get it

Morton's Marvelous Moonday launches 1 September 2026, alongside Jess's Lost Little Lad and Jim's Pongy Problem, available directly from thebeans.info.
